Poetry: “When Ye Have nearly Nothing” (from November 2010)

When ye have nearly nothing

Except for Fresh Air

And you come to the conclusion

That Life just ain’t Fair

Life at times can be quite hard to bear

Even if you’re not waiting for the Electric Chair

Unless you’re a rich man’s heir

The world don’t seem to give a care

Assert yourself if you dare

But all you’ll get is cruelty’s glare.
