Poetry: “Wintertime Memories” (from October 2008)

Note: This poem was written on behalf of a Red Hat Society member.

We all gripe about the cold

As we’re getting so old

But, with fondness I’m told:

Do you recall snowballs & sledding & skiing?

And when skating on ice once was so very nice?

And on weekends we were sledding

When winter was over (in youth) we were dreading

Now Global Warming is where we are heading.
